Sending a package with exSend is designed to be as simple as ordering a ride. Whether you are sending a set of keys across town or a large box of merchandise to a customer, our booking flow ensures you get the right driver for the job.
This guide walks you through the 4-step process of creating a new delivery request.
1. Starting a New Request #
To begin, open the exSend app to the Home Screen.
- Tap the large blue card labeled “Send a package”.
- This will immediately open the route selection screen.
2. Setting Your Route #
We need to know where the item is starting and where it is going.
Pickup Location #
- Default: By default, the app uses your phone’s GPS to set your current location as the pickup point.
- Changing it: If you are booking a pickup for someone else (or from a different location), tap the address bar and type the correct address.
- Saved Places: You can also select from your “Saved Locations” (like Home or Office) to fill this instantly.
Drop-off Location #
- Tap the “Drop-off” field.
- Start typing the destination address.
- Select form List: As you type, a list of suggestions will appear. Always tap the correct address from this list to ensure our drivers get the precise GPS coordinates.
3. Describing Your Package #
To match you with the right driver, we need a few details about what you are sending.
Basic Info #
- Package Title: Enter a short name for the item (e.g., “Laptop Charger,” “Legal Contracts,” “Box of Clothes”). This helps you identify the order later in your history.
- Package Type: Select the category that best fits your item:
- Small Parcel / Envelope
- Box
- Large Item
- Weight: Select the approximate weight class:
- Light: Easy to carry with one hand.
- Normal: Requires two hands but manageable.
- Heavy: May require a van or extra effort.
Adding a Photo (Recommended) #
We highly recommend adding a photo of your item. This acts as visual proof of the item’s condition before pickup and helps the driver spot the package instantly.
- Tap “Upload Photo”.
- Permissions: If this is your first time, your phone will ask permission to access the Camera or Gallery. Tap “Allow”.
- Capture: Take a clear photo of the package. You can upload up to 5 photos if needed.
4. Logistics & Recipient Details #
Select Vehicle Type #
Choose the vehicle that suits your timeline and package size:
- Bike: The fastest option for small envelopes or keys, especially during rush hour traffic.
- Car: The standard option for most boxes and fragile items.
- Van: Essential for large, bulky, or multiple heavy boxes.
Recipient Information #
You must provide details for the person receiving the package. This ensures the driver can contact them upon arrival.
- Add Recipient: Tap to enter their Name and Phone Number.
- Instructions: (Optional) Add helpful notes for the driver, such as:
- “Gate code is 1234”
- “Leave at the front desk”
- “Call upon arrival, do not ring doorbell”
5. Review & Confirm #
Before you finalize the booking, you will see a Summary Screen.
- Review the Map: Visually confirm the route looks correct.
- Estimated Cost: Check the price range (e.g., “$8 – $12”). This is calculated based on the distance, traffic, and vehicle type you selected.
- Payment Method: Your default card will be selected. Tap it if you wish to change to a different card for this specific trip.
Ready? Tap the blue “Confirm Delivery” button. The system will verify your payment method and immediately begin searching for the nearest available driver.
