Forgetting a password happens to the best of us. Because exSend uses your mobile number as your primary identity, resetting your password is a quick and secure process that you can complete in under two minutes.
This guide walks you through the steps to regain access to your account.
1. Initiating the Reset #
If you are stuck on the login screen and can’t remember your credentials:
- Open the exSend app.
- On the “Welcome Back” or “Sign In” screen, tap the small blue link labeled “Forgot Password?” (usually located below the password field).
- Enter Phone Number: Type in the mobile number associated with your account.
- Tap the blue button labeled “Send OTP”.
2. Verifying It’s You #
To protect your account from unauthorized access, we need to verify that you are holding the phone associated with the account.
- Check Your SMS: You will receive a text message containing a 5-digit code.
- Enter the Code: Return to the app and type the 5 digits into the boxes provided on the “Check your phone” screen.
- Verification: The app will automatically verify the code.
- Success: You will see a green “OTP Verified Successfully” notification.
- Failure: If you see a red “Invalid OTP” error, please check the code and try again.
Tip: If you didn’t receive the code after 45 seconds, tap the “Resend Code” link at the bottom of the screen.
3. Creating a New Password #
Once your phone number is verified, you will be taken to the Reset Password screen.
- New Password: Enter your new secure password.
- Confirm Password: Type the exact same password again in the second field to prevent typos.
- Note: Use the “Eye” icon to reveal the text if you need to check what you typed.
- Tap “Reset password”.
Success! You will be logged in immediately or redirected to the login screen to sign in with your new credentials.
4. Troubleshooting #
“Phone Number Not Found” #
- Ensure you entered the number correctly (check for typos).
- You may have signed up with a different phone number originally. Try any other mobile numbers you own.
I’m not receiving the OTP #
- Check that your phone has cellular signal.
- Ensure you haven’t blocked “Short Code” messages in your phone settings.
- Wait a full minute and try the “Resend Code” option.
